Leap Creative Director Matt Hocking has been made Senior Producer for Design of the Time Cornwall's (DOTT Cornwall's) Eco Design Challenge. The 'Challenge is a year-long cross-curriculum project encouraging Year-8 (and to a lesser extent Year-10) secondary school pupils from all over the county to use design and enterprise to produce solutions for reducing their school's ecological and carbon footprints.
£1,700 was the winning bid for the 'concept' of a new climate cow, (the original being too damaged to sell). The auction raised almost £40,000, with almost £18,000 going straight to the support of Hall for Cornwall (HfC) for the coming year.
In March Leap won the best CD/DVD category at the Media Innovation Awards in Bristol. The award was given to our interactive CD-ROM that we designed and developed for the 'Tales from Porth' Cornish Language books.
In April we were told of our success in being nominated for a Cornwall Business Award in the Best Website Category. Entering on behalf of Bedruthan Steps Hotel, the website is a terrific fusion of intuitively tactile high design and practical functionality.
